Our Precious Father, We come earnestly before Your Throne of Grace to lift the men and women of the Colorado State Patrol as they grieve and mourn this sudden and tragic loss of Trooper Cody Donahue.  O’ Lord, as law enforcement officers continue to face all kinds of dangers, today, this loss of life is an example of the dangers law enforcement officers face every day.  We therefore come into Your Presence, Lord, to seek the comfort of Your Holy Spirit upon the men and women of the Colorado State Patrol as they cope with this tragic loss of one of their own.  May Your grace and comfort touch their hearts and minds as they mourn this tragic loss of a dear friend and co-worker.  We especially seek your peace, grace and everlasting comfort to touch the family of this trooper who are grieving ever so greatly at this untimely loss especially as we enter this holiday season.   May Your words as follows be an encouragement and comfort to those in need, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”  “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”  And as the Colorado State Patrol will now begin to prepare a final farewell to this trooper, may You raise up Godly co-workers, chaplains and others to be a light to those with hurting hearts.  May they know, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”  May Many be drawn to You for comfort and strength.  And as many will attend this final service for Trooper Donahue, may Your Salvation reach the ears of many and may many officers and others come to receive You into their hearts as Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
