Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence to give You thanks and praise for sparing the life of a Tacoma Police Officer.  As this officer is in the hospital being treated for several gunshot wounds, we ask You to continue to give the doctors and entire medical staff wisdom to be able to properly and effectively diagnose and treat his wounds and bring about a full recovery.  May You surround this wounded officer with Your Presence and comfort as he copes with this near death encounter and fill him with Your Holy Spirit.  May Your mercies, grace and compassion especially surround the family of this wounded officer as they are very likely at his side supporting their loved one through this difficult ordeal.  As we know several other Tacoma Police officers were likely present when this occurred, may Your grace and comfort also settle upon their hearts and draw them close to Your Side as they had to witness and experience this near-death encounter.  May every officer and family member come to know that You are a God of all Comfort and Peace.  May You use this incident to speak to the hearts of every Tacoma Police officer and any other peace officer who was at that scene and sustain them with the comfort of Your Holy Spirit.  May You, Lord, grant the investigators at the scene wisdom to deal with this barricaded suspect.  May You cause this suspect to peacefully surrender.  May You cause this suspect to be fatigued and confused and prevent him from harming anyone else.  As we know incidents like these can cause short-term and long-term emotional trauma, if any officer might be struggling in their heart, may You draw them so very close to You to experience Your peace.  May Your grace and mercies touch the men and women of the entire Tacoma Police Department as they cope with the near loss of one of their own.  May Your healing power continue to touch Your wounded peacemaker.  Lastly, may Your peace that passes all understanding become real in the hearts of many and may all be drawn unto Your Son in whom there is forgiveness and everlasting life, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
