Lord Jesus, We come boldly into Your Presence to lift up Deputy Nicholas Songy who is being treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.  We thank you that his life was spared and now ask you, Lord, to continue to grant the doctors and other medical professionals wisdom and insight in order to effectively treat and completely restore him to full health.  May you especially settle you peace, grace and love upon his family as they rally around him to love and support him as he potentially undergoes surgery.  May your grace also extend to the men and women of the entire Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department who are deeply concerned for their friend and co-worker.  May your peace that passes all understanding guard the hearts and minds of every deputy and may their investigators be able to piece together what happened.  We are so thankful the suspect was apprehended who unfortunately lost his life in a confrontation with other deputies.  May the members of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department be granted an extra measure of Your Grace and Mercy to sustain them in the coming days as they reflect on this near death encounter.  As we know incidents like this can cause emotional trauma in the future, we therefore ask you, Lord, to send your endless mercies upon your wounded peacemaker and all of the other law enforcement officers who were initially at that incident to preserve their hearts and minds in You.  Finally, may every law enforcement officer know Your word says, “The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.”  May many officers, deputies and others be given an opportunity to know the Love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ and receive Him in their hearts as their Savior and Lord, this was ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
