Praying for a wounded Dallas (OR) Police Officer

Our King of Kings, we thank You that You are our Rock of Refuge and our Fortress.  We come with hearts of gratitude before Your Throne of Grace to thank You for sparing the life of this Dallas Police officer and his partners after being involved in this near-death encounter.  We are so grateful he survived and is being treated at a local hospital.  As the news reports the officers had to use deadly force in which the suspect died, may Your amazing grace surround those officers who were present when this attack occurred.  May Your Holy Spirit touch their hearts and minds and may they intimately experience Your Amazing Grace as each of them performed their jobs as peacemakers.  May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight as they gather all of the facts and evidence surrounding this encounter in which the suspect lost his life.  May Your everlasting comfort touch the countless other law enforcement officers who responded to that scene to render aid to a fallen comrade.  And as this wounded officer is recovering at a hospital with his family at his side, may Your Holy Spirit gently settle upon the whole family as they are blessed to still have their loved one especially during this Christmas season.  May Your love, grace, peace and mercy extend to the men and women of the Dallas Police Department as they reflect on the near loss of a co-worker and friend.  And in the days to come, we know those officers may be subjected to emotional trauma, we therefore ask Your Holy Spirit to sustain them and prevent them from enduring any trauma associated with these types of encounters.  May these words from Isaiah dwell deeply in their hearts, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  May You use this to draw many officers close to your Son and may any officer know that can have eternal life by asking your Son into their heart and confessing their sins, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
