Praying for seriously wounded Weatherford (TX) Police Officer Chris Bumpas

Our Gracious Lord, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace as we lift up Officer Chris Bumpas into Your Presence.  As the news reports he was shot in the abdomen and has already undergone surgery, we know whenever Your children cry out to You, You hear their cries.  So Lord, as Your Children, may Your healing touch continue to be upon Officer Bumpas.  May Your Holy Spirit touch his physical body and sustain him as the medical professionals treat his wound.  May You empower the doctors with continued supernatural wisdom and insight.  May Your grace, love, mercy and peace be upon Officer Chris Bumpas and draw him close to Your Side.  May You raise up chaplains or other Godly officers to be a light to this wounded officer and many of his co-workers.  And if he does not know Your Son, may you allow someone to tell him about Your Son and give him an opportunity to receive You as Savior and Lord.  Lord, as we know the Weatherford Police Department is a small, close knit agency, may Your grace and Your Presence settle upon every member and draw them close to Your Side.  We especially lift up the family of Officer Chris Bumpas and ask You to pour out Your amazing grace upon their hearts and minds as they face an uncertain road ahead.  As we know traumatic events like these can cause long term emotional and spiritual trauma, May Your grace protect their hearts and minds. May You be Light in the hearts of every officer and family member as You carry them through this ordeal for we know You are Wonderful, counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace.  May these eternal qualities come alive in their hearts and minds as they cry out to You for mercy.  May they know Your word says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Grant every officer, friend and family member grace, mercy and comfort.  As this is the second friendly fire incident on the same day, may they both be used as training incidents for officers everywhere.  In the midst of this very difficult moment, may any officer of family member know that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  May anyone who is in deep distress echo these words of King David, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”  Lord, we seek Your continued healing touch upon Officer Bumpas, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
