Praying for a wounded Webster Groves (MO) Police Officer shot in his Kevlar vest

Our Merciful Lord, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace and into Your Presence, O’ Lord with hearts of praise and gratitude unto You for sparing the life of a Webster Groves Police officer. As the news reports the officer was shot in the chest and was saved because of his Kevlar vest, we know there will still be some pain and emotional trauma that this officer must deal with.  We are truly thankful that the news reports he was shot ten times and has already been released from the hospital.  So, Lord, we ask for Your continued healing touch to be upon him and ask you to provide for a full and complete recovery—physically, emotionally and spiritually.  More importantly, Lord, we ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon the heart and mind of this wounded officer as he must deal with the emotional reality of this life-threatening event. May Your amazing grace and your presence touch this officer’s heart and mind. May Your mercy and grace be with the men and women of the Webster Groves Police Department as we know it can affect many others as well. May Your peace that passes all understanding especially touch the family of this wounded officer as they rally around their loved one from this near death experience. Lord, may You use this near tragedy to draw the members of the Webster Groves Police Department unto Your side to intimately experience the joy and peace provided by Your son. As the second officer was forced to fire his weapon in which the suspect died, may Your amazing grace settle upon this officer as he had to witness this deadly encounter. And if this wounded officer or any other co-workers or family members do not know Your love and forgiveness, may Your Holy Spirit cause many to examine their hearts and draw them to the Love of Your Son. Lord, we ask You to provide the investigators with wisdom and insight to piece together facts of this shooting. May You continue to draw many officers and family members to Your side and may many come to know and receive You as their Savior and Lord. May Your mercies and peace rest upon the many other first responders and medical personnel who aided in saving the life of this wounded warrior. May Your words as follows come alive in the hearts of many law enforcement officers, “Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. (Ps. 144:1-2) This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
