O’ Lord, we are so grateful for Your wonderful mercies to have been upon this wounded deputy and are so thankful that You spared his life and the lives of the two other Wal Mart security officers.  As the news reports all are in stable condition with a leg wounds, we ask you to grant the doctor’s wisdom and insight to accurately diagnose and treat their wounds.  We, therefore, lift up this deputy and security officers before Your Throne of Grace and ask You to wrap Your loving arms around them as they recover from this near-death experience.  May Your peace that passes all understanding sustain them and may they be drawn ever close to Your side for the continuing comfort of Your Holy Spirit.  May Your mercy, grace, love and everlasting comfort also settle upon the family of this deputy and may Your grace additionally touch every member of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Department as they rally around to support their wounded comrade and his family.  We are so thankful another deputy was able to chase and arrest the suspect who will now face justice.  May You use this life-threatening incident as a reminder and training aid to law enforcement officers across America and the world to forever be vigilant in everything they do and may they never become complaisant.  Lastly Lord, may every Loudoun County Sheriff’s Department member know that You ordained their job as a peacemaker to protect and serve their community wherever they may be.  May Your words comfort many as follows, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  We are so thankful to You, Lord, that their lives were spared by Your amazing grace.  And through this near-death encounter, may these and many other law enforcement officers come to recognize their need to draw near to You for You will then draw near to them.  May many come to receive Your forgiveness and receive Your Son as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
