Our Gracious Lord, we are ever so grateful to You Lord, for Your hands of protection to have been upon this Escondido police sergeant and thank you, Lord, for sparing the life of not only this wounded servant but the many other officers involved in this incident. As You continue to surround and protect Your peacemaker-servants across America, Lord, we thank You Your amazing Grace and Mercy to have descended upon this Escondido peacemaker. We therefore, come into Your Presence Lord to lift up this wounded sergeant before Your Throne of Grace and ask for Your blessings and comfort to touch his heart and mind as he recovers from this near-death experience. As the news reports the wound is not life-threatening, we ask You to continue to guide the doctors and grant them wisdom to treat and restore this sergeant to full health. May Your grace prevent this sergeant from enduring any short-term or long-term negative effects because of this traumatic incident. We are so thankful that the suspect who escaped will no longer be able to harm any other peace officers as he committed suicide. So, Lord, may You grant the investigators wisdom to piece together the details of this incident. As this wounded sergeant’s family is at his side, may they sense Your grace, peace, mercy, presence and comfort carrying them all through this very emotional time as a result of this near-death experience. May your grace and mercy also touch the men and women of the Escondido Police Department and hold them ever so closely to Your side where there is amazing peace that passes all understanding because of Your Love. May Your peace and everlasting comfort prevent this wounded sergeant and any co-workers from enduring any short term or long-term emotional trauma. May Your words comfort those in need as follows, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“ And Lord, as we know Your word says that all things work together for good according to your riches and mercy, may You use these attacks upon Your servants to continue to draw many men, women and children unto the Love of Your Son, Jesus, in who there is forgiveness of sins and everlasting life. May you especially cause many Escondido Police officers to search their hearts inwardly and if any have been backslidden or need to receive You into their heart, May Your Holy Spirit touch those in need. May You draw them back into Your loving arms, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
