O’ Merciful Lord, it with a deep sense of urgency we come boldly into Your Presence to lift up a critically wounded San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy into Your loving arms. We seek Your presence, grace and healing power to immediately settle upon this wounded deputy right now. O’ God, spare his life according to mercy and grace. O’ Lord, Your word tells us You alone are our Rock and our Fortress and our ever-present help in times of trouble, and we, therefore, earnestly come before your Throne of Grace to ask You to spare the life of this wounded deputy. As he has been taken to a trauma center, may You continue to have in place the needed medical specialists and doctors to continue to diagnose his wounds and apply the correct surgical treatment and medications to save this peacemaker. As we know the family of this deputy very likely in deep distress, we seek Your amazing grace to sustain them through this very difficult time of uncertainty. Lord, may your amazing grace, peace, comfort, Presence and mercy touch the hearts and souls of the men and women of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department as they rally to support their law enforcement family as this is the second deputy wounded in the past few months. Continue to pour out Your wisdom on the medical staff to save the life of this wounded servant. We are so thankful the suspect is no longer a threat. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together the facts of this incident. May Your words, Lord, as follows speak to the hearts of so many in need of Your Touch, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ; and “Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.” And, “The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.” So Lord, raise up chaplains and other Christian peace officers to bring comfort to all. May many know and intimately experience Your grace and mercy. O’ Lord, grant Your Amazing Grace to your wounded deputy. And if this wounded deputy does not know You, may Your Holy Spirit speak to his heart and reveal Your love to him. O Lord, spare the life of Your servant, this we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
