Our Father in Heaven, hear our prayer, O’ Lord, as we lift up the heartbroken men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol in this tragic loss of their friend and co-worker, Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Dan Cox. At this time of loss, it is only YOU to whom we can turn for comfort at this sudden loss. So Lord, we seek Your unfailing love and comfort to gently settle upon Agent Cox’s family who are deeply mourning this horrific loss. Lord, in the midst of this most difficult time for the family, friends and co-workers of Agent Cox, may Your presence, comfort and amazing grace be made evident in their hearts and minds. Lord, we ask for Your Arms of Love and Mercy to tightly hold Agent Cox’s entire family ever so close to Your side. May his family intimately and deeply sense Your love, grace, mercy, comfort, and most of all, Your Presence in their hearts and spirits as You carry them through this most difficult time. Even in the middle of this tragedy, may You bring about good to everyone. May Your word as follow comfort those in need, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”, And, “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” May You give the investigators wisdom to piece together the details and facts from this collision. As the U.S. Border Patrol must now begin the difficult process to prepare to say a final farewell to Agent Cox, may You use this time to draw many co-workers and others ever so close to the Cross of Christ. May Your Holy Spirit, even now, begin to touch the hearts of so many. May You raise up chaplains and other Christian law enforcement officers to minister to those who are hurting ever so deeply in their hearts. And so Lord, may, You, our God of Hope fill every officer, friend and family member with all Joy and Peace because of the everlasting gift of eternal life found only in Your Son. May You take this tragedy and bring about good to the hearts of the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol. And if any have strayed from Your path, May You guide them back unto Your Side. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
