Our merciful Savior and Lord, we come boldly into Your presence seeking Your mercies and grace upon a critically injured Memphis Police Officer from an on-duty collision. As this officer is being treated at a hospital, we ask You to continue to intervene O’ Lord and guide the doctors and entire medical staff and grant them extraordinary wisdom and insight to properly and effectively treat this officer and restore him to full health. May this injured officer intimately know Your grace, peace, mercy, love and comfort even as he is being treated. O’ Lord, spare his life. As his family is at his side supporting him at this very emotional time, may the family members, too, know Your peace that passes all understanding as You carry them through these deep waters. As we also know many other Memphis Police Officers and other family members who are rallying to support their injured comrade, may they know that they can take solace that You, Lord, are in control. May the men and women of the Memphis Police Department be strong and take heart—may they forever place their Hope and Trust in You. O’ Lord, may You make Your presence supernaturally known to this injured officer and may he intimately know You will never leave him nor forsake him. And as this collision is under investigation, may You grant the investigators wisdom to piece together all of the facts. May Your Presence, amazing grace and Your angels encamp around this injured peacemaker and sustain him by Your Holy Spirit and with Your everlasting love. May Your Face shine upon every member of the Memphis Police Department and their family members. By Your grace, may they be strong and take heart—may they forever place their hope and trust in You as You carry them through this difficult time. May Your word as follows bring comfort to many, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Finally, may you raise up godly officers, chaplains and others to support this injured peace officer and family members. May many be drawn to Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
