Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up Officer Jesse Hartnett into Your Presence.  We are ever so grateful that Officer Hartnett remembered his training in this ambush attack and was able to return fire to take the suspect into custody.  First Lord, we ask You to be with the doctors who are treating Officer Hartnett and grant them wisdom and insight to accurately diagnose his wounds and then apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery.  May Officer Hartnett intimately sense Your Presence, mercy, comfort, love and most of all, Your Grace carrying him through this near death encounter.  May Your awesome Presence especially be with his family as they rally around him to support him at this very emotional time.  May they be ever so thankful to YOU for sparing his life.  And as we know this encounter has affected the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department may Your Presence and grace touch the hearts and minds of every officer and may they know Your Word says to “come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest.”  If any officer is struggling emotionally or spiritually, may they seek You for comfort and give them Your peace that passes all understanding.  May the suspect come to receive Your forgiveness also.  May Your Holy Spirit go forth throughout Philadelphia and prevent any similar attacks on Your servants.  May Your presence surround every officer.  May You forever be their Rock, Strength and Fortress.  May this incident not be politicized as the mayor has already started to do about gun control, but may this be a call to repentance in their community and abroad.  May many officers and citizens be drawn to the love of Your Son and receive His love and forgiveness and receive eternal life, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
