Our Lord Jesus, for the second time in two days, our hearts are broken, again, O’ Lord, as this time we join with the Danville Police Department in mourning the loss of Officer Thomas Cottrell  targeted simply because of his profession.  Lord, we therefore come boldly and in earnest before Your Throne of Grace to seek your endless mercies and grace upon the Danville Police Department and allied law enforcement agencies as they mourn the loss of Officer Cottrell.  We especially lift up Officer Cottrell’s family as they in shock and mourning at this senseless tragedy.   May Your amazing grace and grant them peace through this terrible storm.  May Your Hands of Mercy and Love supernaturally touch the hearts and minds of the many law enforcement officers who were emotionally affected by this tragedy.  May You forever keep their minds and hearts fixed upon You as their Rock, Fortress and Deliverer.  As we know this can affect them emotionally, may Your grace keep them from enduring any long term emotional trauma.  May Your mercies continue to be upon the Danville Police Department and surrounding law enforcement community.  We are thankful the suspect was apprehended and may he be swiftly brought to justice and punishment rendered.  May many friends, family members and co-workers be drawn to Your side and may many reach out to Your Son for peace and comfort and in whom there is everlasting life.  May Your name forever be glorified in the midst of this tragedy and may many receive Your son in their hearts as their Savior and Lord and carry those through the difficult days ahead.  And as many will be attending a final farewell in the coming days, may many be drawn unto Jesus and receive Him as Savior and Lord.  In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
