Our Father in Heaven, we come with deep hearts of gratitude to You for sparing the life of a Miami Police Officer who was stabbed in the face during an altercation.  As the news reports indicate he is being treated and expected to be released from a hospital, we ask You to continue to pour our Your mercy, grace and healing power upon this officer who experienced this near-death encounter.  May you grant the doctors wisdom to diagnose, treat and apply the appropriate treatment to restore this officer to full health.  As the news also report the officer had to fire his weapon to save his life in which the suspect was wounded, we know this encounter can be emotionally traumatizing to not only the officer, but his co-workers and family as well.  So Lord, may this wounded officer know Your Word says to cast all their cares upon You for You care for them and that You said, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”  So Lord, may this injured officer be drawn ever so close to Your side where he can hear Your heart beat.  And if he does not know You, may he know that at any time, he can invite You into his heart to be his savior and Lord.  Lord, we also ask You to pour out your grace and mercy upon the family of this injured officer as we know the emotional trauma they can also experience.  Most importantly, may Your grace prevent this officer from enduring any sleepless nights and may You preserve his heart, mind and spirit from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional trauma brought on by incidents like these.  May Your amazing grace be abundant, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
