Our Mighty Protector, We come before Your throne of Grace to lift up Trooper Jacob Fields who was shot during a pursuit.  Most importantly, Lord, we are so grateful to You for sparing his life.  May Your healing touch continue to be upon his injuries and may You grant the medical professionals wisdom to continue to provide the correct treatment and allow him to make a full recovery.  May your grace, peace, mercy and comfort gently descend upon his family as they endure many emotions at this near loss.   May your grace additionally touch the hearts and minds of the other Georgia Troopers who were involved in this incident and especially those who had to fire their weapons.  May You grant the investigators wisdom to be able to effectively gather all of the facts surrounding this deadly encounter.  As we know incidents like this can cause deep emotional trauma upon many of the troopers, we ask for Your grace and mercy to protect their minds from suffering any ill effects for many years to come.  Most importantly Lord, may you use this near death experience to cause many law enforcement officers to seek Your comfort.  And if there are any officers who have strayed from Your path, may they be gently drawn back to you by Your love and mercy.  And, more importantly, if any officers do not know You as their savior and Lord, may they sense in their hearts that now is the accepted time, that now is the day of salvation.  May the God of hope fill each trooper, friend and family member with all joy and peace as they seek to trust in You, so that they may overflow with hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
