O’ Lord, Your word says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”  So Lord, we come with boldness and urgency before Your Throne of Grace to lift up Deputy Derek Geer.  We seek Your mercy and healing power to descend upon his mind, body and spirit as he is being treated at a trauma center for these gunshot wounds.  May Your Will be done.  May You grant the doctor’s and all medical specialists with supernatural wisdom to quickly and accurately diagnose and identify all trauma and apply the correct medical treatment.  May You endow all medical professionals with supernatural insight and guide their every decision and treatment.  May Your Holy Spirit speak to the heart of Deputy Geer and draw him ever so close to the love of Your Son.  If he does not know You, may You reveal Your Son in his heart and spirit and allow him to receive Him into his heart.  O’ Lord, may Your amazing grace, peace and comfort touch Deputy Geer’s wife and two children as they rally around him at the hospital.  We especially seek Your grace, comfort, love, peace and Presence to surround the men and women of the Mesa County (CO) Sheriff’s Department as they come together to support each other at this difficult time of uncertainty.  No matter what, Lord, we place our Trust in Your Grace as You are our Rock, Fortress and deliver—an ever-present help at all times.   As Deputy Geer’s family and co-workers gather to support family and each other, may You wrap Your arms around them and draw them together in the comfort of Your Holy Spirit.  May You heal Deputy Geer and may Your Peace that passes all understanding fill the hearts of many.  And as this 17-year-old suspect has been taken into custody, may justice prevail.  May even the suspect receive the love of Jesus even though he must suffer the consequences of his actions.  May You raise up Godly officers, Chaplains and friends to share the love of Jesus to many, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
