Praying for a wounded Lawrence County (IL) Sheriff’s Deputy

Our Gracious Lord, we are so thankful to You for sparing the life of this Lawrence County Deputy Sheriff and ask for your healing touch to continue to be upon his physical body.  More than anything Lord, we are so thankful to You for inspiring the inventor of the Kevlar vest which has been used to saved countless lives as in the case of this deputy.  As the news reports are minimal as to the deputy’s condition, may you continue to give the doctor’s wisdom to bring about a full and complete healing to his entire body. May your grace sustain this deputy in his heart, soul and mind due to his near death encounter.  Lord, may your grace and mercies settle upon the men and women of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department as they are come to grips with nearly losing a dear friend and colleague.  May you also be with the deputy’s family and uphold them with your love, grace, peace and mercies as they cope with this near tragedy.  Lord, we are so grateful for your protecting hand to have been upon this deputy and that the suspect who tried to take the life of one of Your servants was taken into custody.  As we know this incident can emotionally affect this wounded deputy and many others who were involved in this incident, may Your Holy Spirit touch their hearts and spirits and prevent them from enduring any long term trauma.  And, Lord, if there are any deputies or family members who do not have a personal relationship with your Son, may your Holy Spirit use this near-tragedy to draw them to His side and may many come to know Him as their Savior and Lord and receive eternal life in Christ.  May they know when someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside and is not the same anymore for a new life has begun!  This we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
