Our Gracious Lord, for the second time this week we find the law enforcement community again grieving the loss of another officer from an on-duty collision.  We therefore come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up the men and women of the South Jacksonville  Police Department as they mourn the loss of Officer Scot Fitzgerald who died in an on-duty collision with an ambulance.  O’ Lord, we ask You to pour out Your mercy and grace upon the entire department and ask You to sustain them with Your arms of love and comfort.  May Your amazing grace especially descend upon Officer Fitzgerald’s family as they are in obvious deep distress and mourning this tragic loss.  O’ Lord, wrap Your Arms around them for Your word says Your will always be our Rock, Fortress and Deliver for we also know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  So Lord, for those who know You, we will stand on the promise of Your word and ask Your will to be done.  May you take this tragedy and use it for Your Glory.  As the South Jacksonville  Police Department must begin the process to say their final farewell to Officer Fitzgerald, may You raise up Godly officers, chaplains and others to be a light and draw many unto the love of Your Son.  May the name of Jesus be lifted high and may the good news be proclaimed to those in darkness.  May many know Your peace that passes all understanding, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
