Our Lord Jesus, We come boldly into Your Presence to lift up this critically wounded detective with the Jacksonville County Sheriff's Office. As the news reports indicate he is in critical but stable condition, we ask you, Lord, to fill the hearts and minds of the treating doctors and other medical professionals with wisdom and insight in order to effectively treat and completely restore him to full health.  May these doctor’s use their experience, training in combination with Your Holy Spirit to apply the correct treatment.  We are so thankful the suspect who tried to take the life of Your servant was arrested so no others may be hurt.  As we know the 14 year old son of this wounded detective witnessed this attack, may you especially settle your peace, grace and love upon his son and the entire family as they rally around him to love and support him as he undergoes treatment.  May your grace also extend to the men and women of the entire Jacksonville County Sheriff's Office who are deeply concerned for their friend and co-worker.  May your peace that passes all understanding guard the hearts and minds of every officer and may their investigators be able to piece together all of the facts surrounding this attack.  May the members of the Jacksonville County Sheriff's Office and allied law enforcement agencies be granted an extra measure of Your Grace and Mercy to sustain them as they love and support the family at this emotional time.  And as we know incidents like this can cause emotional trauma even to the 14 year old son, we ask you, Lord, to send your endless mercies upon this wounded peacemaker and the officers who had to use deadly force and preserve their hearts and minds in Your love and grace.  May every law enforcement officer know Your word says to, “Cast all your cares on the Lord for He cares for you.”  May this wounded detective and many other officers be drawn unto the peace found in Your Son and may they have an opportunity to know the Love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ and receive him as Savior and Lord.  This was ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
