Our Father in Heaven, We come into Your Presence to earnestly lift up Simpson County Sheriff’s Deputy Eddie Lawson unto Your Throne of Grace and are so very thankful that You spared his life. May your healing power continue to descend upon his body and may he be fully restored to complete health.  As the news reports indicate he suffered two wounds, may You grant the medical staff wisdom to be able to treat his wounds and restore him to full health.  May your hands of mercy especially settle upon his family who are at his side supporting him at this emotional time of uncertainty.  May they all know that it is your love, grace and mercies that will carry them through this difficult time.  Lord, we also ask for your peace to gently settle upon the hearts and minds of every member of the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department and may they know it is YOU who is carrying them through this difficult time.  May every deputy know without a doubt that You will be their Shield, their Rock and their Fortress wherever they go.  May every deputy and every officer across America always remember their training and to always use proper tactics and procedures as there seems to be an upswing in attacks on Your servants.  Even though this suspect shot one of Your servants, we know Lord, Your Holy Spirit can soften his heart and draw him close to You where there is forgiveness.  May you uplift those other deputies who were at the shooting scene and fill them with Your love, grace, peace and comfort.  May they know only You are the One who can sustain them at this emotionally difficult time.  May every member of the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department know that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved and enter Your rest.  May you use this near death experience to draw many to come to know You as Savior and Lord.  May your unfailing love be made known to all.  Most importantly Lord, may You use many Christian officers to reach out to their peers and may they see Your love in action.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
