Our Gracious Lord, thousands of miles apart across America, the men and women of law enforcement join together to pray for injured CHP officer Nathan Taylor and for the Prince George County Police Department in the on-duty murder of Officer Jacai Colson.  We are, first, ever so thankful to You, Lord, for sparing the life of Officer Taylor who was struck by a vehicle.  As the news reports indicate his injuries were not life-threatening, we ask You to pour out Your amazing grace upon Officer Taylor as he is being treated for his injuries.  May You grant the doctors wisdom and insight to identify his injuries and then render the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery.  May his family know Your peace and grace through this emotional time.  We, next, come with a broken heart into Your Presence O’ Lord as we lift up the men women of the Prince George County Police Department as they mourn the loss of their friend and co-worker Officer Jacia Colson.  As Your word says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit”, we seek Your hands of mercy and grace to touch every member of the department as they cope with this senseless attack and murder upon one of Your Peacemakers for we know the job of a  peacemaker has been ordained as Your Servants of Righteousness.  Lord, we especially lift up the family of Officer Colson and ask You to hold them ever so close to Your Heart.  As we know Your Word says to, cast all our cares on You, because You care for us, we ask You to hold the men and women of the Prince George County Police Department ever so close to Your Side as they come to grips with this senseless and tragic loss.  May You give the investigators wisdom to gather all of the facts surrounding this tragedy and may all of the facts be brought in the open. O’ Lord, as we know countless law enforcement officers across America are so vulnerable every day, it is only because of Your Amazing Grace, love, peace, mercy and protection that they can do their jobs every day.  May every officer remember their training.  May You fill every officer with wisdom, insight and grant them a sixth sense to be able to know when danger lurks.  As Prince George County Police Department must now begin the task to say a final farewell to Officer Colson, may You use this as an opportunity to draw many ever so close to Your Side.  May You raise up Godly officers, chaplains and others to be light to many.  May Your name be glorified through this tragedy and may many come to know the eternal life found in Your Son, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
