Our Merciful Lord, our hearts are broken on this day before Easter at that tragic loss of two Des Moines police officers and two others in this horrendous collision.  O’ Lord, at a time like this, we know the entire Des Moines Police Department is in shock and grieving ever so greatly at the loss of their dear friends and co-workers.  Not only is the department grieving, but so are the families of both officers.  We therefore come with great boldness unto Your Throne of Grace to seek Your amazing grace and mercy to descend upon the entire Des Moines Police Department and families of these officers.  May You surround them with Your love, grace, mercy, Your Presence and Your compassion as they mourn this great loss.  Lord, we ask You to grant the investigators with supernatural wisdom and insight to be able to gather all of the facts surrounding this crash.  May anyone whose heart is deeply broken know Your Word says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”  So Lord, we thank You for Your amazing grace and touch upon those mourning and grieving ever so greatly.  May the love of Your Son descend upon their hearts and sustain them with Your Arms of Love and Mercy.  And as the Des Moines Police Department must now begin the process to say farewell to their fallen comrades, may You use this ceremony to draw many unto our Side and may many have an opportunity to know and receive Your Son as their Savior and Lord.  May they know that Your word says, “Blessed in the sight of the Lord are the death of His saint.”  May many know Your Word says that, “Now is the day of salvation.”  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
