Our Gracious Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace to thank You Lord that Your hands of mercy and grace were upon Philadelphia Police Officer James McCullough who was wounded this evening. As the news reports he was shot in the leg, we are thankful that You spared his life. May Your peace and comfort gently settle upon his heart and mind as he comes to grip with this near death experience. Lord, may you to continue to grant the medical doctors wisdom as they treat his wound to bring about a full recovery. And as his family is at his side, may Your Holy Spirit bring comfort to them at this very emotional time. May Your peace that transcends all comprehension settle upon the hearts and minds of the entire Philadelphia Police department and their families as they come to grips with this near-death encounter. May Your grace prevent any of these officers from suffering any long-term effects as this trauma can often affect their hearts and minds. May Your grace be made manifest to all. May many officers know Your word says to, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart;and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” May Your Holy Spirit draw many officers ever so close to Your side where You will be their refuge, shield and strength, and may many come to know You personally as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
