Our Gracious Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace with deeply broken hearts as we lift up the men and women of the San Antonio Police Department as they mourn this tragic loss of one of their own co-workers who took his life while seated in his police cruiser.   O’ Lord, as we know this loss has hit the entire San Antonio Police Department very hard, we ask You to settle Your grace and Your Presence upon the hearts of so many who have been so deeply hurt both emotionally and spiritually.  And as the family of this officer has been informed of this tragedy, we know this loss will deeply affect them.  We therefore seek Your peace and comfort to gently settle upon their hearts and minds as they comes to grip with this horrific loss.  May Your peace that transcends all comprehension settle upon the hearts and minds of the entire San Antonio Police department and their families as they, too, come to grips with this tragic loss of an officer known by so many.  Lord, we ask You to make Your Presence known by Your Holy Spirit to every man and women with the San Antonio Police Department.  May Your grace, peace, love and Your everlasting comfort prevent any of these officers and co-workers from suffering any long-term effects as we know this trauma can often affect their hearts and minds.  May Your grace be made manifest to all.  May many officers know Your word says to, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” May Your Holy Spirit draw many officers ever so close to Your side where they can know You will be their refuge, shield and strength.  Lastly, may many come to know Your peace, forgiveness and grace as they can personally receive Your Son as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
