Our Father in Heaven, We come into Your Presence to earnestly lift up this wounded Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy unto Your Throne of Grace and are so very thankful that You spared his life.  As the news reports indicate he was in surgery and sustained non life threatening wounds, we seek Your healing power to descend upon his body and may he be fully restored to complete health.  Grant the doctors wisdom and insight as they treat his wounds and perform any required surgeries.  May your hands of mercy especially settle upon the family of this wounded deputy who are very likely at his side supporting him at this emotional time.  May they all know that it is your love, grace and mercies that will carry them through this difficult time.  Lord, we also ask for your peace to gently settle upon the hearts and minds of every member of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department.  May every deputy know without a doubt that You will be their Shield, their Rock and their Fortress wherever they go.  O’ Lord, as a massive search is under way for the suspects who tried to take the life of one of Your servants, may You grant the investigators wisdom and insight as You lead them to the suspect(s).  May You cause this suspect or suspects to be unable to sleep or have rest as they are being sought.  And if they try to use their weapons on any other law enforcement officers or citizens, may You cause their weapons to malfunction.  May You confuse the minds of the suspects and may You cause them to be apprehended and brought to justice.  May You surround every Arizona law enforcement officer with Your Shield and may You be their fortress.  May every deputy and every officer across America always remember their training and to always use proper tactics and procedures as there seems to be an upswing in attacks on Your servants.  Even though this suspect shot one of Your servants, we know Lord, Your Holy Spirit can soften the heart of the suspect(s) and draw them close to You where there is forgiveness.  May you uplift those other deputies and officers who were at the shooting scene and fill them with Your love, grace, peace and comfort.  May they know only You are the One who can sustain them at this emotionally difficult time.  May every member of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department know that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved and enter Your rest.  May you use this near death experience to draw many to come to know You as Savior and Lord.  May your unfailing love be made known to all.  Most importantly Lord, may You use many Christian officers to reach out to their peers and may they see Your love in action.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
