Our Heavenly Father, We come into Your Presence Lord to lift up an Appleton Police Officer who was wounded in the line of duty and are so thankful for sparing her life and the life of a citizen who was also wounded trying to assist this officer.  As we know you are the Great Physician, we ask for Your continued healing power to be upon this officer and wounded citizen ask you to give the doctors wisdom and insight to render the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery.  May Your Holy Spirit bring spiritual and emotional strength to this wounded officer as a result of this near death encounter and may You prevent her from enduring any long term emotional trauma.   May you be with the entire Appleton Police Department as they support their wounded colleague and may You surround them with Your love.  May you also be with family of this wounded deputy and citizen and grant them strength, grace peace and mercy to sustain them  through this emotional time.  May all of the officers  and their family members know they can always trust in your unfailing love to carry them through any difficult situation  May many be drawn to the love and peace of Jesus Christ who can and will uphold them with his arms of love.  May many family members and deputies examine their hearts and may You provide them an opportunity to receive you into their hearts as Savior and Lord.  May they know Your Word says, “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”  As a result of this near-death encounter, may many come to know you in a real and personal way, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
