Our Merciful Lord, Your word says, “Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge. I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”  As the news reports indicate a York County Deputy has been shot in the face, we are thankful—that according to the news reports, he survived and has been taken to a hospital.  As we do not know the extent of his wound, we know it could have been much more serious had it not been because of Your amazing grace.  Lord, we lift up this wounded deputy and ask You to pour out Your love and grace on his heart and mind as he comes to grips with this near-death encounter.  O’ Lord, we ask You to raise up the correct medical specialists to already be in place to examine his wound and then apply the correct treatment.  May Your love grace, mercy, comfort and unending love settle upon his heart and mind and draw him ever so close to Your side.  May you especially be with his family as they come to grips with this near-tragedy.  Most importantly, Lord, we ask You to pour out an extra measure of Your grace upon the men and women of the York County Sheriff's Department and York City Police Department as they come to grips with this attempted murder upon one of their colleagues.  We are thankful the suspect was apprehended.  May Your grace settle upon every law enforcement officer who was at that scene and sustain them and prevent them from enduring any emotional trauma. May Your angels and Your mercies continue to touch the men and women of the York County Sheriff's Department and keep them safe from all harm and danger.  Lastly, may You draw this wounded officer ever so close to Your side and if he does not know You, may he know that Now is the day of salvation. May Your protecting hand continue to be upon every law enforcement officer across America.   This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
