Our Father in Heaven, We come into Your Presence to lift up Washington Department of Corrections Officer Kristoffer Rongen before Your Throne of Grace who was wounded in the line of duty while serving on a task force.  Lord, we are so grateful to You for Your amazing grace and mercies to have been upon this officer and for sparing his life.  As the news reports indicate he suffered a leg wound, we thank You according to the news reports, he suffered non life-threatening injuries and was being treated at a hospital.  As Officer Rongen comes to grips with this near death experience (as he and some co-workers had to fire their weapons) may Your peace and comfort touch their hearts and minds and draw them ever so close to Your side.  May Your grace, mercies, peace and love touch the many other law enforcement officers who were present or responded to this scene as we know this can be just as emotionally traumatizing to them as well.  May Your grace also be with Officer Rongen’s family and comfort them with Your grace, mercies and Your presence.  Most importantly, Lord, may Your amazing grace and presence be with the families of the other law enforcement officers who were present during that incident and may they sense Your Presence and love carrying them through the days ahead.  As the news reports indicate the suspect was in critical condition, we ask for Your mercies to also be upon him and may he be drawn to Your side.  May Your grace touch the many medical workers and first responders who rendered aid to both the wounded officer and suspect as we know they, too, can be emotionally and spiritually challenged through this incident.  Lord, as we know traumatic confrontations like this can cause emotional trauma to many who were present and even those who were not, we ask for Your mercies to be upon them and draw them close to Your side where they may find comfort and grace.  May anyone know Your word says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”   And if Officer Rongen or any other law enforcement officers involved in that incident do not know You personally, may You draw them to Your SON by Your Holy Spirit where they may have an opportunity to receive Him as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
