Our Gracious Lord, we are so thankful to You for sparing the life of this Hillsdale Police Officer and ask for your healing touch to continue to be upon his physical body.  As the news reports his wounds were not life-threatening, we, nonetheless, ask You to give the doctor’s wisdom to diagnose his wounds and then apply the correct treatment to bring about a complete healing to his entire body.  May your grace sustain this officer in his heart, soul and mind due to his near death encounter.  Lord, may your grace and mercies settle upon the men and women of the Hillsdale Police Department as they are come to grips with nearly losing a friend and colleague.  As we know this life-threatening encounter can cause emotional trauma to this officer or any other officer who was at that scene, we ask You to pour out Your amazing grace on their hearts and spirits and prevent them from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional or spiritual trauma brought on by these near death experiences.  May you also be with the wounded officer’s family and uphold them with your love, grace, peace and mercies as they cope with this near tragedy.  Lord, we are so grateful for your protecting hand to have been upon this officer.  And, Lord, if this wounded officer, any co-workers or any family members do not have a personal relationship with your Son, may your Holy Spirit draw them to Your Side and may many come to know Him as their Savior and Lord and receive eternal life in Christ.  May they know when someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!  This we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
