Our Father in Heaven, Our hearts are heavy as we join with the men and women of the Town of Salem Public Safety Department in mourning the tragic on-duty traffic fatality of Officer Michael Josua Ventura.  Lord, as exemplified by the recent tragedies and attacks in Dallas, Ballwin and Valdosta, no one knows what their day will bring such as a conducting a traffic stop or responding to an emergency call.  We, therefore, Lord, come into Your presence to lift up the entire Town of Salem Public Safety Department and the surrounding law enforcement agencies as they grieve this sudden loss.  May Your grace touch every member of the Town of Salem Public Safety Department and surrounding law enforcement agencies and sustain them with Your unending love.  May You especially be close to the family of Officer Ventura and hold them ever so close in Your arms of love.  May You pour out Your grace, peace and mercies upon them as they come to grips with sudden loss.  As the law enforcement community and family members walk through this dark valley, may they rest in Your Shadow at all times basking in Your comfort.  As Your Word says that, “Your ways are not our ways“, we ask You to use this tragedy to draw many law enforcement officers, friends and family members unto Your side where they may come to know Your love in a real and personal way.  And as the Town of Salem Public Safety Department must now prepare to say a final farewell to Officer Ventura, may You raise up Godly officers, chaplains and friends to share the love of Jesus Christ with those so deeply hurting.  May You also grant the investigators wisdom to investigate the collision.  Finally Lord, as a result of this tragedy, may many be drawn ever so close to Your side, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
