Our Gracious Lord, we are ever so grateful to You Lord, for Your hands of protection to have been upon this Chicago Police officer and his partner.  Your Grace and Mercy are amazing, Lord, and we are so very grateful to You for sparing their lives.  We, therefofe, come into Your Presence Lord to lift up this wounded Chicago officer before Your Throne of Grace and ask for Your blessings and comfort to touch his heart and mind as he recovers from this near death experience.  As the news reports indicate he suffered a gunshot wound to the thig and that his wound is not life-threatening, we ask You to continue to guide the doctors and grant them wisdom to treat and restore this officer to full health.  May You grant the investigators wisdom as they investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.  May no other attacks occur on Your servants in Chicago or across America.  May You hear the prayers of Your children and may Americans humble themselves before You at all times.  As we know many of these Chicago officers  are on edge, we ask that Your grace and mercy touch the men and women of the Chicago Police Department and hold them ever so closely to Your side where there is amazing grace and love.  May Your peace and everlasting comfort touch the family of this wounded officer and continually draw them close to You in the bonds of love.  And Lord, as we know all things work together for good according to your riches and mercy, may You use these attacks upon Your servants to draw many men, women and children unto the Love of Your Son in who there is forgiveness of sins and everlasting life.  May You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to share Your love and mercy, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
