Our Gracious Lord, we are ever so thankful to You, Lord, for sparing the life of a Los Angeles Police Officer who suffered a gunshot wound to an arm during that deadly encounter.  Lord, we ask You to pour out Your grace, love, peace, comfort and mercy upon this officer who had this near death encounter. May You continue to grant the doctor’s wisdom and insight to accurately diagnose and treat his wound. Lord, as we know there were several other officers who faced death today, we know that many of them are in need of Your Amazing grace to settle upon their hearts and minds. May every officer involved know Your word says, “…do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” O’ Lord, we are so thankful for Your Protection to have been upon these peacemakers today. As we know their families are equally as concerned for the safety of their loved ones, we ask You to pour out Your Peace that passes all understanding upon the families of every law enforcement officer involved in that incident. May You use this near death experience to cause many to reflect upon their souls and may many be drawn to the eternal life found only in Your Son. Finally Lord, we ask You to grant the investigators emotional, spiritual and physical strength as they methodically piece together the details of this attack on Your Servants.  May Your Holy Spirit draw many officers and family members ever so close to Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. May many know Your word say, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
