O’ Lord, We come earnestly before You seeking Your grace and mercy as we lift up the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol who are grieving the loss of their dear friend and co-worker, Agent Manuel Alvarez.  Lord, no matter how much tragedy and devastation law enforcement officers may see every day, there is just no way to prepare for the loss of a colleague.  So Lord, we ask for the sweet presence of Your Holy Spirit to encircle the entire U.S. Border Patrol and draw them ever so close to Your side.  May your grace and mercies touch the officers and paramedics who initially responded and treat Agent Alvarez as this traumatic incident will forever be etched into their minds.  Lord, we ask for an outpouring of Your unending love and peace to especially be upon Agent Alvarez’ family as they are deeply mourning this unexpected and tragic loss.  And as members of the U.S. Border Patrol must now prepare to say a final farewell to their friend and co-worker, may Your Holy Spirit be present at every step of these funeral preparations.  Even in the midst of this tragedy, we ask that You would use this accident to bring glory to Your name and draw many unto Your side.  May every officer, family member and friend be given an opportunity to hear the clear presentation of the Gospel and be drawn unto Your Son in whom there is everlasting life.  May those who truly hunger and thirst for righteousness be satisfied.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
