O’Lord, Your word says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; [but You said] I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  So Lord, we, lean on Your word as we come earnestly and boldly before Your Throne of Grace to ask YOU to bestow Your abundant life upon Detective Dan Brite.   May Your Supernatural touch be upon Your wounded servant and spare his life as he is recovering from surgery.  And as he is being treated by multiple medical professionals, we ask YOU to continue to place the correct specialists in his path and that You would fill them with Your wisdom and insight to be able to accurately diagnose his wounds and develop an appropriate plan to treat and restore him to full health.  And as other deputies had to use deadly force to stop the suspect, we ask You to pour out Your grace and mercy upon them as they had to endure the emotional trauma from this deadly incident.  As we know this encounter has likely affected the entire Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, we ask You to pour out Your amazing grace upon them and sustain them with Your presence and peace.  May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to be able to gather all of the facts surrounding this encounter.  May Your love, grace, mercy, peace and comfort be multiplied upon the family of Detective Brite.  May You be their Rock, Fortress, Strength, Peace and their Deliver at this emotional time of uncertainty.  And if he does not know You personally, may Your Holy Spirit speak to his heart and mind and may he know Your Word says, “come to all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give You rest.”  May Detective Brite sense Your soft voice in his heart and call out to You to be his Savior and Lord.  And if there are any deputies who have fallen away from You, may they be drawn to You because of Your Amazing Grace and Love.  Surround every deputy and family member with Your Presence and Peace.  May they know they can cast their cares upon You for You always care for them.  O’ Lord, spare the life of Your servant and fully restore him, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
