Our Father in Heaven, for the second time in one night we again come before your Throne of Grace to lift up two more wounded law enforcement officers this time in Pennsylvania.  As the news reports indicate both officers were talking in the hospital, we are so very thankful that You spared their lives.  We therefore lift up Sergeant Sylvia Young and Officer Eddie Miller into your arms of Love and Mercy.  As we know both officers are being treated at a local hospital, we ask You to fill the medical staff with Your wisdom and knowledge to be able to accurately diagnose their injuries and apply the correct treatment.  May Your Holy Spirit descend upon these officers and reveal to them Your amazing love and mercy in their hearts and souls.  May You grant the Philadelphia law enforcement community continued protection from those who are bent on attacking them.  As we know many of the co-workers of these officers have also been deeply affected, may Your Peace fill their hearts and minds and may the love of Jesus flow over into their hearts and sustain them with Your amazing grace.  As the news reports four civilians were also shot, we ask for Your hand to be upon them and may You spare their lives.  And if these officers do not know You personally, may You raise up chaplains, Godly officers and others to share the love of Jesus with them.  May Your will be done.  Your word says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”   So Lord,as many officers and family members are trying to make sense of this attack, may they know Your word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Finally Lord, we ask You to give the investigators wisdom and insight to determine the motive behind this senseless attack.  Draw the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department and the University of Pennsylvania Police Department ever so close to Your side.  And as we know the families of these wounded peacemakers are likely rallying at their side, may they, too, intimately sense Your Presence and may they be drawn to the love of Jesus.  May they all know that now is the day of salvation and know the eternal life in You alone, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
