Our Merciful Father, We come into Your Presence O’ Lord to lift up two of your servants seriously injured from on-duty collisions.   We are first, Lord, so thankful that You spared their lives .  As both peacemakers have already been treated at hospitals, we ask You to continue to pour out Your healing touch upon them and grant the medical doctors wisdom to be able to effectively diagnose and treat their injuries and restore them to full health.  As we know the families of both of these injured peacemakers are at their sides, may Your peace that passes understanding also descend them and may You use these near death experience to draw them ever so close in the bonds of love.  May Your peace and grace also extend to the many co-workers of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Will County Sheriff’s Department and draw them ever so close to your side.   May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to effectively investigate each collision.  Lastly, as we know ordeals like these can cause emotional trauma, may both deputies intimately experience Your Grace and peace that passes all understanding.  May the love of Your Son be made real in the lives of these injured peacemakers and may You use Godly officers, chaplains and others to point them to the love of Your Son.  May each injured deputy know Your Word says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”  May they and many others come to know the eternal life provided by the Love of Your Son, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
