Our Gracious Lord, once again we come to You in prayer for another law enforcement officer who was shot in the line of duty.  We are so thankful to You, Lord, for sparing the life of Fairbanks Police Sergeant Allen Brandt.  May your grace and mercies settle upon him as he is being treated at a local trauma center.  As the news reports indicate he was shot several times, we come boldly before your Throne of Grace and mercy and ask You to bring this officer into Your wonderful Presence. May You continue to give the medical personnel wisdom and insight to properly treat and restore the officer as good as new.  May your grace, peace, mercies and comfort sweetly settle upon the family of Sgt. Brandt as they come to grips with this near tragedy.  May they sense Your grace carrying them through this difficult time.  May the power of your Holy Spirit also gently settle upon the men and women of the Fairbanks Police Department as they are realizing that they, too, nearly lost a friend and comrade.   Lord, may the love of your Son be revealed to the men and women of the Fairbanks Police Department and sustain them with Your arms of love and grace.  As the suspect escaped, may You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to be able to track down and arrest this suspect who tried to murder one of Your Peacemakers.  May You confuse the heart, mind and spirit of this suspect.  May You raise up citizens to report his sighting.  May You cause his firearm to malfunction should he try to use it again.  Lastly Lord, for any officer or family member who do not have a personal relationship with your Son, may you use chaplains and other Christian officers to share the love of Jesus with them.  May Your Name be glorified through this ordeal and may many be drawn to the Cross of Christ where there is endless mercy and grace.  Once again, may every officer know that he who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, shall rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  May they know they can cast their burdens upon You for You intimately care for them.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
