O’ God, our hearts are broken again as we mourn with the men and women of the Modoc County Sheriff’s Department in this tragic loss of one of their own.  Because You alone are our Rock and our Fortress and our ever-present help in times of trouble, we earnestly come before your Throne of Grace to seek Your amazing grace to carry them through this very difficult time of loss of their dear friend and co-worker.  Lord, may your sustaining grace, peace and mercy touch the hearts and souls of every deputy and co-worker.  May your love and grace especially be with his family as they endure this great loss.  May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together the facts of this tragic incident.  In the coming days, as the members of the Modoc  County Sheriff’s Department will be having to prepare to say a final farewell to their friend and co-worker, may the power of your Holy Spirit settle upon each deputy and grant them supernatural strength in their hearts, minds and spirits.  May the love and Jesus be made real to each of them.  May every deputy, officer, family member and friend intimately know that no matter what, you will never leave them nor forsake those who love you and have received you into their hearts.  May they know that Your Word says that You do not want anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance in You alone.  May the suspect be brought to justice and may he also be given an opportunity to receive You as savior and Lord.   In the coming days, may Your Holy Spirit touch countless grieving hearts and may many be drawn to the Cross of Christ where there is mercy and grace.  May your everlasting comfort settle upon every member of the Modoc  County Sheriff’s Department  and many of the family members.  O’ God, hold them so very close to your heart.  May You raise up chaplains and other Christian officers to bring comfort to all; this we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
