Our Father in Heaven, We again come into Your presence, Lord, to lift up the men and women of the Chester Police and Detroit Police Departments as countless co-workers and friends are grieving the loss of Chester Officer James Brockmeyer and Detroit Officer Myron Jarrett.  Lord, this week has been especially tough on law enforcement officers across America in deaths involving motor vehicles.  We therefore, O’ Lord, come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to seek Your Presence and comfort upon so many with broken hearts.  May Your grace, peace, love, mercies and comfort settle upon the entire Chester and Detroit Police Departments as they cope with this senseless loss.  And Lord, as we know these incidents will affect many co-workers both emotionally and spiritually, we ask for Your mercies to extend to the many co-workers of these fallen peacemakers and ask You make Your Presence and comfort known in their hearts.  May Your peace and comfort especially settle upon the families of each of these fallen officers and uphold them with Your Amazing Grace.  May You grant the investigators who are investigating each of these incidents with wisdom to be able to gather the facts surrounding them and apprehend the suspects who are still on the loose.  Lord, in the coming days, as both departments will begin to prepare a final farewell, may You raise up Godly officers, friends or chaplains to minister Your love to the many law enforcement officers, friends and family members so deeply affected by these tragedies.  May this incident draw many ever so close to Your side where there is amazing grace and peace.  And if any officer or family member does not know Your forgiveness and love, may You use these incidents to draw many close to Your side where there is never ending love and peace. Finally, may these words from Isaiah echo in their hearts, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”   May many come to receive Your Son into their hearts, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
