Our Father in Heaven, hear our prayer, O’ Lord!  We come with humility and sorrowful hearts before Your Throne of Grace as we lift up the men and women of the West Valley City Police Department in this tragic death of their friend and co-worker, Officer Cody Brotherson.  At times like this Lord, it is only YOU to whom we can turn for comfort.  May Your unfailing love sweetly settle upon the family of Officer Brotherson as they are mourning this tragice loss taken at such a young age.  Lord, in the midst of this most difficult time for the family, friends and co-workers, may Your unending love and amazing grace be made evident in their hearts and minds.  Lord, we ask for Your Arms of Love and Mercy to tightly hold Officer Brotherson’s family ever so close to Your side.  Even in the middle of this tragedy, may You bring about good to everyone because of Your Amazing Grace, goodness and mercy.  May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together all of the details in this incident.  May Your mercies also sustain the family of the suspect who caused this collision and may he/she be brought to justice.  As the West Valley City Police Department must now begin the difficult process to prepare to say a final farewell to Deputy Brotherson, may You use this time to draw many co-workers and others ever so close to the Cross of Christ.  May Your Holy Spirit, even now, begin to touch the hearts of so many.  May You raise up chaplains and other Christian law enforcement officers to minister to those hurting in their hearts.  And so Lord, may the God of Hope fill every officer, friend and family member with all Joy and Peace because of the everlasting gift of eternal life found only in Your Son.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
