Our Gracious Lord, We again come with hearts of gratitude and humility before Your Throne of Grace to thank you for sparing the life of this Anchorage Police Officers.  As the news reports indicate he has already undergone surgery and is expected to survive, we ask You to continue to grant the medical doctors with supernatural wisdom to continue to treat his wounds and bring about a full recovery.  May your peace that passes all understanding guard the hearts of minds of this wounded officer and his partner who both faced this life-threatening experience.  May your mercy and grace of Your Son, Jesus, settle upon their mind and spirit as You draw them ever so close to your side.  May Your peace, love, grant and comfort settle upon this wounded officer and his family as they rally at this side at this very emotional time.  May your peace, mercy and grace also touch every law enforcement officer who responded to that scene.  Lord, we know incidents like this can cause emotional distress for any law enforcement officer for years to come, we therefore, ask that You would grant any officer peace of mind and peace in their hearts as a result of this life-threatening encounter.  May You Lord, pour out Your unfailing love upon every officer.  May you especially grant an extra portion of grace to the spouses and families of every officer as they are often emotionally affected from incidents like these.  And if there is any officer who does not know You in a real and personal way, may your Holy Spirit draw them to the Love of your Son in whom there is eternal life.  May you remind every law enforcement officer that the job they are doing was ordained by You.  We thank you that you are our Rock, our Shield and Strength of our Salvation.  May You continually protect every law enforcement officer at all times while they are serving the citizens of their community.  May you use this incident to draw many officers to come to a personal relationship with Your Son.  May your Holy Spirit thwart any future assaults on Your servants and may they know YOU are a Shield around them wherever they go.  May you grant every officer wisdom and discretion to use good tactics at all times and to remember their training.   This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
