O Lord, we join with the men and women of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department as they mourn the loss of Deputy Eric Oliver who was struck by a vehicle.  Lord, we know it is only Your grace and mercy that You can uphold the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department through this very difficult time of grief.  May your love, grace, peace and mercies especially settle upon the family of Deputy Oliver as they are in obvious shock and dismay at this sudden and tragic loss especially during this Thanksgiving season.  Lord, we ask You to reach into the hearts and souls of those grieving and mourning ever so greatly and wrap them in Your Loving Arms  May many be drawn close to Your side where they can intimately know that the Lord will be their refuge and strength and their refuge in times of trouble. May those officers and family members who know You as their Savior and Lord be used as instruments of grace to be an example of strength to those who are mourning deeply.  And may those who do not know You recognize their need to put their faith and trust in You no matter the circumstances.  May many with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department know that the Lord will never forsake those who seek You.  May you grant the investigators insight and wisdom as they gather the facts surrounding this incident.  May you use this deadly incident to show the public of the various dangers law enforcement officers encounter every day.   May Your grace, peace, mercy and comfort especially touch those who were especially close to Deputy Oliver and wrap Your arms of love around them.   Finally, as the law enforcement community must now make preparations to say farewell to Deputy Oliver  in the next week, may many law enforcement officers, friends, co-workers and family members be drawn so very close to Your side and may many come to know the eternal salvation found only in Your Son.  Lord, be their Rock, Fortress and Deliver throughout this coming week, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
