Law Enforcement officers may find that some violent crimes have been prompted by someone's desire for revenge. It may also be a force in which a law enforcement officer might have to deal with--personally. Checkout what the Bible says about that:
- Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD. Romans 12:19(NLT)

- “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. Matthew 5:38-38 (ESV)

- Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it. 1 Peter 3:9(NLT)

- Do not say, “I’ll do to him as he has done to me; I’ll pay that man back for what he did.” Proverbs 24:29(NIV)

- Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. 1 Thessalonians 5:15(NIV)
