  • … correct the wise, and they will love you. Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more. Proverbs 9:7-9(NLT)
  • Wise words satisfy like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction. Proverbs 18:20(NLT)
  • “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you… Luke 6:37(NLT)
  • Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs. Proverbs 19:11(NLT)
  • Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.  Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. James 1:19-20(NLT)
  • A truly wise person uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered. Proverbs 17:27(NLT)
  • From a wise mind comes careful and persuasive speech. Proverbs 16:23(TLB)
  • A good man thinks before he speaks… Proverbs 15:28(TLB)
  • Everyone enjoys giving good advice, and how wonderful it is to be able to say the right thing at the right time! Proverbs 15:23(TLB)
  • The instruction of the wise is like a life-giving fountain…. Proverbs 13:14a(NLT)
  • …those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25(NLT)
  • … the words of the wise bring healing. Proverbs 12:18(NLT)
  • Wise words come from the lips of people with understanding… Proverbs 10:13a(NLT)
  • When a good man speaks, he is worth listening to…a godly man gives good advice… Proverbs 10:20-21(TLB)
  • If you punish a mocker, the simpleminded will learn a lesson; if you correct the wise, they will be all the wiser. Proverbs 19:25(NLT)
  • The wise man is known by his common sense, and a pleasant teacher is the best. Proverbs 16:21(TLB)
  • But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant. Luke 22:26(NLT)
  • Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.  Ephesians 4:29-30(NKJV)
  • But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! Galatians 5:15(NKJV)
  • Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32(NKJV)
  • A single rebuke does more for a person of understanding than a hundred lashes on the back of a fool. Proverbs 17:10(NLT)
  • An unreliable messenger can cause a lot of trouble. Reliable communication permits progress. Proverbs 13:17(TLB)
  • The mouth of the godly person gives wise advice…The lips of the godly speak helpful words. Proverbs 10:31a-32a(NLT)
  • Matthew 7:3-5(NLT)
“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye£ when you have a log in your own?  How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?  Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye."
