Our Father in Heaven, Our hearts are broken as we grieve with the men and women of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department in this tragic death of Sgt. Greg Meagher .  O Lord, we ask for Your supernatural presence to be made known in the hearts of the entire Richmond County Sheriff’s Department as they sense a tremendous emptiness in their souls.  May You be that Rock, that Fortress and an ever present help to them in this time of trouble.  Lord, we especially ask you to touch the family members of Sgt. Meagher who are also in deep mourning from this tragic and sudden loss.  May You surround them with Your sweet presence and may they know they can lean on You for You intimately care for them.  May You grant an extra measure of grace and comfort to the many individuals who were involved in this frantic rescue attempt.  We are especially thankful for the heart of Sgt. Meagher in his attempt to save the lives of others.  May You take this tragedy, by Your grace and mercies, Lord, and turn this into a blessing in the hearts of so many.  May the memory of Sgt. Meagher be treasured forever and may You use this as an opportunity to draw many friends, family members and members of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department ever so close to Your side for You said, “Never would You leave us and Never would You forsake us.”  As this tragic incident in investigated, may the cause be found and may other accidents like this be prevented.  Lastly, in the days to come, as the preparations are made to say farewell to Sgt. Meagher, may You use this as an opportunity for the love of Your Son to be shared with many.  May many friends, family members and co-workers come to receive Your Son into their hearts as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
