Our Gracious Heavenly Father, we come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up with the men and women of the Tennessee Highway Patrol as they mourn the loss of their dear friend and colleague, Trooper Michael Slagle who died of apparent natural causes while driving a patrol vehicle. Lord, we also lift up the wife and daughter of Trooper Slagle as they also are grieving deeply at this sudden loss of their husband and father. Lord, we ask your Holy Spirit to touch the hearts and souls of every member of the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the friends and family members Trooper Slagle’s so that they may know without a doubt You will be with them as they walk through this dark valley. May you use this difficult time to draw many man and women to the love of Jesus Christ. May many come to know that You are the Resurrection and the Life and that those who believe in You will have eternal life even after physical death. May the comfort of the Holy Spirit gently settle on all who are grieving. And as the final services for Trooper Slagle will take place within the next week, may this time be used to drawn many law enforcement officers into a first-time relationship or a renewed relationship with our King of kings and Lord of lords. This we ask in the wonderful name of Jesus, Amen.
