Our Father in Heaven, we come before Your throne of Grace to lift up the countless traffic officers across the U.S. who make thousands of traffic stops every day.  May Your mercies and hands of protection continue to be upon them.  And today, Lord, we come again into Your Presence to lift up this wounded highway patrol trooper who suffered glass fragment injuries after being shot at after the end of a high-speed chase.  We are so grateful this trooper maintained his composure during this near-death encounter and are so grateful that all suspects involved in that incident were later apprehended.  May Your healing touch continue to be upon this troopers injuries and may You grant the medical professionals wisdom to continue to provide the correct treatment and allow him to make a full recovery.  May your grace, peace, mercy and comfort especially descend upon this trooper’s family as we know they had to endure many emotions at this near loss of their loved one.   May your grace additionally touch the hearts and minds of the many other troopers and allied law enforcement officers who were involved in the ensuing search and apprehension of the other suspects.  As we know incidents like this can cause deep emotional trauma upon many of the officers involved, we ask for Your grace and mercy to protect their minds from suffering any ill effects now and for many years to come.  Most importantly Lord, may you use this near-death experience to cause many law enforcement officers to seek Your comfort.  And if there are any officers who have strayed from Your path, may they be gently drawn back to you by Your love and mercy.  And, more importantly, if any officers do not know You as their Savior and Lord, may they sense in their hearts that now is the accepted time, for Your Word says, “Now is the day of salvation.”  Finally, Lord, May the God of hope fill each officer, friend and family member with all joy and peace as they seek to trust in You, so that they may overflow with hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
