Praying for the Louisville (KY) Metro Police Department in the on-duty fatality of Officer Nick Rodman

Our Father in Heaven, we come humbly into Your Presence right now Lord, as we know there are many hearts that are grieving and mourning ever so greatly at this tragic loss of Officer Nick Rodman.  Lord, as we know the loss of this officer has affected so many, we seek your supernatural touch upon the men and women of the Louisville Metro Police Department and ask You to carry them through this very difficult time of loss for we know it is only Your Grace that truly sustain the hearts of so many who are deeply grieving.  May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to be able to determine all of the facts surrounding this collision and bring the suspect to justice.  Every day, Lord, we know there are thousands of law enforcement officers who place themselves in harm’s way driving motor vehicles.  May Your grace and mercies reach out to every officer across America and abroad and grant them strength and insight to be able to use proper driving tactics and safe procedures whenever they may have to chase violators.  As the men and women of the Louisville Metro Police Department must now prepare to say farewell to Officer Rodman, may You use this as an opportunity to draw many unto Your Side.   May You raise up chaplains and Godly officers to share a message of grace and peace and may many be given an opportunity to know the eternal life that is found only in Your Son.
May these eternal and timely words of comfort speak to the hearts of so many in need of Your love and grace:

  1. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
  2. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty
  3. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
  4. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
  5. I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
  6. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Lord, may You use this tragedy to speak to the hearts of anyone who has strayed from Your path.  May they know that if they confess their sins, You are faithful and just and will forgive them and cleanse them from all unrighteousness.    May many receive You as Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
