Our Gracious Father, We come boldly into Your presence to bring these two wounded officers before Your Throne of grace and mercy. We are so very thankful that Your hands of protection were upon Your servants keeping them from experiencing serious injury by just a matter of inches. May Your grace, mercy and especially Your peace that passes all understanding gently settle upon the hearts and minds of these two officers. May they sense Your presence comforting them as they replay this scenario over and over in their minds at this sudden and unprovoked attack upon their lives. May Your grace also touch the many other law enforcement officers who were involved in that incident who also experienced the same emotional trauma as these injured officers. As we know there were also multiple first responders and paramedics who responded to aid these injured officers, we ask for Your grace to touch their hearts and minds as we know they experienced the same emotional trauma as the officers. May Your mercy and peace especially touch the families of both officers and uphold them with Your arms of love. Grant them unexplainable peace through this very difficult time. We ask you to grant the investigators wisdom to locate and safely apprehend the suspect who has been identitied as Kendarrious Chester. May You grant the investigators wisdom to be able to capture this suspect. May Your Holy Spirit settle upon this suspect and cause his mind to be confused. May he be unable to sleep or rest. And if he tries to harm any other law enforcement officers, may you cause his weapon to malfunction. Fill his heart with guilt and may he have to peace until he is taken into custody. Protect all law enforcement officers involved in this manhunt. In the coming days as everyone involved begins to reflect on this near-death experience, may they focus on You, the Author of Life, and may they be drawn to the love of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. May You provide them Your peace that passes all understanding. Finally, may they come to intimately know that You will always be their Rock, Fortress and Deliverer, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen. |
