Our Merciful Lord, the law enforcement community across America is once again seeking Your Amazing Grace upon the men and women of the New York City Police Dept. as they are mourning this senseless and tragic loss of Officer Miosotis Familia.  O’ God, Your word says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.”  Lord, the hearts and spirits of so many are totally devastated at this loss as this officer was shot while sitting in a police unit.  Nonetheless, we know it is only You to whom we can come to for comfort.  We therefore come boldly before Your Throne of grace to seek Your peace, strength and love to carry those through this extremely emotional time.  We know it is ONLY Your word and Your sweet Presence that can carry us through difficult days ahead for Your word says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1; and, “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill.” Psalms 3:3-4; and, “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless.  He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.” Psalms 18:30.  So Lord, may Your Words permeate the heart of every member of the New York City Police.  May Officer Famila’s family especially know Your peace that passes all understanding as You carry them through this time of mourning and grieving.  We are so thankful the suspect was caught but unfortunately lost his life.  Lord, help the men and women of law enforcement make sense out of this unprovoked attack upon Your servant.  May You prevent any copycat incidents like this from occurring anywhere in America.  And as the New York City Police must now prepare to say a final farewell to Officer Familia, may You raise up Godly officers, chaplains and others to be a representative of Your Son to all.  May You use this final farewell to point many law enforcement officers unto the love of Your Son and may many have an opportunity to receive Him as their savior and Lord.  May Your amazing grace settle upon the hearts of those greatly grieving and mourning, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
